• "Angels Over the Chosin"

    Air Group Three was on board the USS Leyte (CV-32) during the time of the Chinese offensive into North Korea in November 1950. LCDR Frank Cronin was to lead a flight of eight aircraft to some targets in the far northeastern area of North Korea, but the inclement weather deteriorated their hopes to arrive on the targets with clear skies. With a full load of ordnance and nowhere to release them, LCDR Cronin set for a new course to the Chosin Reservoir to give support to the very grateful Marines.
